Religion/Philosophy

The joint religion/philosophy major requires essentially the same courses as the religion major, plus an equal number of courses in the various areas of philosophy—introduction to philosophy, the history of philosophy, philosophy of religion, logic and special topics. Students who have majored in religion or the combined religion/philosophy option have a 100 percent acceptance rate into graduate programs/seminaries, and graduates are at times exempted from introductory biblical courses in seminary because of the intensive study they completed at Lambuth. Besides the obvious preparation for a church service, the major in either religion or the combined option provides a good foundation for law, journalism, media, theatre and other areas of employment because it broadens one’s perspective.
