Academic Life

Lambuth faculty move outside the classroom, too. They present papers, publish articles and write books. They take students on field trips—to places like Harris Creek for biological studies; to Rowan Oak, William Faulkner's home, for literary studies; to Hot Springs, AR, for the largest documentary film festival in the world. Lambuth faculty present Faculty Forums, appealing campus-wide lectures, which highlight topics from the psychology of religion to the ethics of stem cell research to the fallacies in The DaVinci Code. Faculty support the Lambuth academic community through events such as the Lyles Lecture Series, the Sociology Symposium, the Literary Forum, Lunch with the Pros, the Distinguished Lecture Series, the annual West Tennessee Undergraduate Collegium in Philosophy and Religion and the Mid-South Psychology Conference, which began right here at Lambuth. In addition, they contribute to the Honors Program and oversee student recitals, art shows, paper presentations and internships. Lambuth’s professionally active and student-centered faculty encourage students on every step of their academic paths to success.
