Also, more than 1,000 videos and 300+ CDs can be checked out. Furthermore, a rare copy of Processus contra Templarios, the Vatican Secret Archives document, is housed in the library, as are The Memphis Conference Archives and the Lambuth-B’Nai Israel Center for Jewish Research. Each semester, the library offers book signings, movies, discussions, and speakers, and seven well-trained librarians offer students expert assistance and personal attention in a friendly, welcoming environment.

This newly updated facility features a Digitarium Alpha 2+ digital star projector, which generates images of up to 200,000 stars, hundreds of galaxies and numerous nebulae on our 30-foot dome. Weekly star shows are offered, as are other special programs, such as “The Other Side of Infinity: Black Holes.”

Student Support Center

The Student Support Center offers encouragement and motivation and seeks to ensure students’ academic success by providing well-qualified tutors, free of charge, in any academic subject. Both one-on-one and group sessions are offered. In addition, three nights per week both Math/Science Lab and Writing Lab are options. Help with study skills, test-taking strategies and counseling for academic/life skills are available too.

Testing Center

The Testing Center offers various college, graduate and professional school examinations: the ACT, MAPP, MAT and computerized versions of the MCAT, GRE, TOEFL and the PRAXIS I, providing services for Lambuth students and for surrounding institutions within a 100-mile radius. Testing center personnel also proctor exams for students with special needs and for area residents taking online courses. Accommodations and support for students with learning disabilities are coordinated through the Testing Center as well.

Career Development Center

CD_career_dvlpmt_office_new_bThe Career Development Center supports students in their exploration of potential careers. A good starting point is the DISCOVER career assessment, available—free of charge—to all students and alumni. Other resources include a library with materials relevant to job-search skills, graduate school preparation and military service. To aid students in gaining practical experience, the center maintains lists of internships and employment openings (part-time, full-time and summer jobs), besides posting community service and volunteer positions. Throughout the year job-search skills may be honed in sessions on resume writing, interview preparation and career seminars. Also, the annual Career Fair gives students the avenue to meet with prospective employers to gather information about companies and to have on-campus interviews.
