Director of Greek Life
The Office of Student Development at Lambuth University, a United Methodist Church-related institution in Jackson, Tennessee is seeking a Director of Greek Life to provide visionary leadership for the College Panhellenic Council (CPC) and Inter-fraternity Council (IFC). Lambuth University's Greek system currently includes 3 fraternities and 4 sororities, whose members comprise approximately 30% of the student population.
Responsibilities
- Work with undergraduate Greek students, Greek alumni, and various University offices to build a thriving Greek community.
- Advise and educate Greek councils, particularly in the areas of risk management, membership recruitment/intake and education, problem resolution, and community planning. Assess leadership-training needs and implement a leadership development program.
- Educate members of the Greek community on issues including but not limited to eating disorders, sexual harassment and assault, relationship violence, alcohol and other drugs. Lead alcohol and other drug (AOD) education task force, and collaborate with Student Development and Athletics to provide AOD programming for other student populations.
- Plan and execute an annual calendar of undergraduate and alumni events, including All-Sing and Greek Week.
- Collaborate with Residence Life to enhance the residential experience within Greek houses.
- Mentor two part-time professionals, the Student Organizations Advisor and the Publications Advisor.
Qualifications
Candidates possessing a Master's degree in higher education administration or related fields are preferred. All candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree, membership in a national Greek organization, and direct experience in advising, leadership development, and programming. Candidates must demonstrate a sincere commitment to student development in the context of a church-related institution.
Compensation
The Director of Greek Life is a twelve-month position with full employee benefits. Compensation also includes employer-funded health insurance, long term disability, and retirement.
