Psychology

The objective of the Lambuth Psychology Program is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve their career and graduate study goals. To this end, the Lambuth psychology curriculum utilizes active learning. Students are not merely passive recipients of knowledge. Students take an active role in discovering ideas and practicing the application of those ideas. We welcome you to explore how the Psychology Program accomplished its goal through our Internship Program, Psi Chi and Psychology Club, Research Opportunities, Mid-South Psychology Conference, and courses. We also invite you to visit our Faculty, Honors and Awards, and Major/Minor Requirements.

Student Spotlight: Leann Smith

Leann Smith (with Dr. Cheryl Bowers and Dr. David Dietrich)
Lambuth Psychology Graduate
Graduate of Notre Dame Ph.D. program in Psychology

"I am so grateful for my entire college experience at Lambuth. Upon arriving at graduate school I realized how well-equipped I actually was for both higher education and for life in general. The personalized attention I received by so many professors at Lambuth, but especially Dr. Bowers and Dr. Dietrich, has made a major difference in my preparedness for graduate school. The level of care and concern given to each student at Lambuth is a rarity. I am so glad that I attended a university where I was more than a number and where I was able to interact with my professors and fellow students both in and outside of the classroom."

"A major asset of the Lambuth psychology program is the emphasis on internships and undergraduate research. Once in graduate school I was surprised to discover that other students had not had such opportunities."
