Dr. Lee J. Weimer

Associate Professor of Music

Lee J. Weimer, Associate Professor of Music at Lambuth University teaches applied brass, brass methods, music history and conducts the brass ensemble. Dr. Weimer attended the University of California at Irvine, and has a BFA from the University of Minnesota, MM from Southwest Texas State University, and a DMA from the University of Memphis. He is principal trumpet with the Jackson Symphony and appears regularly as a soloist, chamber and orchestral player in the region. Past orchestral appearances include the Minnesota Orchestra, Rochester (MN) Symphony, Bloomington (MN) Symphony, Austin Symphony, Memphis Symphony, and Paducah Symphony. Dr. Weimer also performs on baroque trumpet and cornetto with the Memphis Consortium for Early Music, the Memphis Early Brass Ensemble and the Nashville period instrument orchestra, Belle Meade Baroque. His articles and reviews appear regularly in professional journals including Brass Bulletin, Journal of the International Trumpet Guild, NACWPI Journal, and the Journal of Musicological Research. Dr. Weimer is a member of the American Federation of Musicians, College Music Society, Historic Brass Society, Galpin Society, International Trumpet Guild, National Association of College Wind and Percussion Instructors, and Pi Kappa Lambda.
