Greek Life Alpha Gamma Delta - Founded in 1904, Alpha Gamma Delta international women's fraternity promotes the development of women to assume professional and personal responsibilities. The Theta Pi chapter of Lambuth University works in support of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation through fundraisers and philanthropic events and hosts annual social events throughout the year. Their colors are red, buff and green, and the flowers are red and buff rose.Alpha Kappa Alpha - This is the first black sorority at Lambuth. The purpose of Alpha Kappa Alpha is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, improve the social stature of the race and promote unity and friendship among college women. The women of Alpha Kappa Alpha strive for leadership, scholarship and excellence. Their colors are salmon pink and apple green, and the flower is the pink tea rose. Alpha Kappa Alpha was founded nationally in 1908.  Alpha Omicron Pi - Alpha Omicron Pi, founded in 1897, is an international women's fraternity whose purpose is to provide a lifetime of sisterhood, promote academic excellence, enhance personal and leadership development and encourage fraternity and community service. The Omega Omicron chapter at Lambuth is actively involved on campus with philanthropic projects as well as sponsoring various social events throughout the year. The national color for the fraternity is cardinal, and the flower is the Jacqueminot rose. Phi Mu Fraternity - Founded in 1852, Phi Mu Fraternity is the second oldest national fraternity for women. Based upon the founding principles of love, honor and truth, the character of the Kappa Nu chapter at Lambuth is totally aligned with the proposed character of all Phi Mu chapters. The purpose of Phi Mu is to develop a sisterhood of noble women that conscientiously strives for the betterment of women and humanity as a whole. Their national colors are rose and white, and the flower is the Enchantress carnation. Kappa Alpha Order - Founded in 1865, Kappa Alphas are known as "the gentlemen of the fraternity world." The philosophy of the Order is that "the acquisition of knowledge and the development of character are the great goals of life." Through fellowship and their brotherhood development program, Defining the Gentleman, the Gamma Omicron chapter seeks to teach young men to be leaders; to be brave, self-reliant and to continually strive to better themselves. The national colors of Kappa Alpha are crimson and old gold, and the flower is the magnolia. Kappa Sigma - Founded in 1869, Kappa Sigma continues to exemplify the lifetime dedication of Greek membership. Based upon their motto, Kappa Sigma is not for a day, an hour or a college term, but for life. The brotherhood development program for Kappa Sigma focuses on the development of every single member. The Epsilon Psi chapter strongly believes in the bonds of brotherhood with an open, friendly and energetic atmosphere. Their national colors are scarlet, white and emerald green, and the flower is Lily-of-the-Valley. Sigma Phi Epsilon - Founded in 1901, Sigma Phi Epsilon is the largest undergraduate fraternity in the nation. "The Balanced Man Project" is the goal of every Sigma Phi Epsilon chapter. Their motto, Building the balanced man on the concepts of virtue, diligence and brotherly love, permeates the Tennessee Zeta chapter's membership development program. The goal is to learn to live virtuous with honesty, to be diligent with studies and to show brotherly love with everyone. Their colors are purple and red, and the flowers are the dark red rose and the violet. The Interfraternity Council - The three men's international fraternities -Kappa Alpha Order, Kappa Sigma and Sigma Phi Epsilon - are governed by an Interfraternity Council, which is composed of chapter presidents, fraternity representatives and an advisor from the Office of Student Development. IFC oversees fraternity activities including the rush program, educational programs and all-campus events. IFC also sponsors the Fraternity Award of Excellence program and several Greek issues programs throughout the year. IFC seeks to promote cooperation and understanding among the fraternities and to educate the Greek community on issues facing Greeks nationally. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , Advisor The Panhellenic Council - There are four national sororities on campus - Alpha Gamma Delta, Alpha Omicron Pi, Phi Mu and Alpha Kappa Alpha - which work together in a Panhellenic Council. Panhellenic Council works to promote good relations and greater unity among the women's Greek groups, and it establishes and administers rules for recruitment and other rules applicable to the sororities.
