Institutional Research

Mission:

The Office of Institutional Research plans and implements relevant institutional research projects and conducts independent analyses to provide information needed by university administration, academic departments and campus organizations for strategic planning and assessment. The Office provides pertinent information to organizations external to the University for the purpose of public awareness of the University and its programs.

Responsibilities that fall under the auspices of the Office of Institutional Research & Planning include, but are not limited to:

  • Compilation and production of the annual Lambuth University Databook
  • Collect data and compile information annually for the Common Data Set
  • Serve as a member of the University’s Strategic Planning Committee
  • Coordination and timely submission of reports required by the USDOE, including the IPEDS Report and the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act
  • Respond to requests from external constituencies and surveys that are determined to have value to the mission of the University
  • Administer, analyze and disseminate information obtained from University-designed surveys
  • Coordinate, assist in the administration of and analyze and disseminate data from the MAPP test
  • Serve as the University’s SACS Accreditation Liaison
  • Establish and administer a system under which the compilation and review of Institutional Effectiveness Goals for all areas of the University is streamlined and provides for a culture of continuous improvement
  • Serve as the point of contact for determining the semester-by-semester needs for Major Field Test administration for graduates

The Office of Institutional Research & Planning administers and/or compiles the following internal surveys:
  • Entering Student Expectation Survey
  • Entering Freshman Survey
  • Student Satisfaction Survey
  • Alumni Survey
  • Senior Exit Survey
  • Faculty Survey
  • Academic Advising Survey
  • Non-matriculating Student Survey
  • Non-returning Student Survey
  • Freshman Seminar Evaluation

External Surveys

The Office of Institutional Research & Planning analyzes and disseminates information obtained from the following external surveys:
  • Proficiency Profile Test (formerly MAPP test)
  • Major Field Tests

Requests for Data/Assistance with Surveys


All administrative surveys of the University will be channeled through the Office of Institutional Research and Planning. Students conducting scholarly research are welcome to contact the IR Office for assistance, however they are not required to do so.
