Introduction

The Lambuth Internship Program provides students with a unique opportunity beyond that of the traditional college classroom. Through this program, Lambuth students are placed in off-campus job sites that are related to their career interests. Rather than attend classes, students receive course credit in exchange for completing hands-on work at that job site. Internships allow students to explore different career options as well as obtain experience that gives them a competitive edge in the job market or graduate school application process. One student intern says of the program:

"My internship was a great opportunity. Without it, it would have been hard to get my foot in the door. My internship turned into my job with the juvenile court system. That's as good as it gets."

Placements

The Lambuth Psychology Internship Program provides opportunities for experience in a variety of career areas, such as in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, social work, business, research, and work with special populations. While numerous local businesses and agencies are a part of the Lambuth Psychology Internship Program, students are not limited to these placements. Special internships are set up for students with unique interests or special needs. For example, summer internships may be set up in a student's hometown or in a larger city.
