Lambuth University Welcomes New Students for Fall 2010

Lambuth University welcomes incoming Fall 2010 students during the first of two scheduled Summer Orientation and Registration (SOAR) events this summer.

"SOAR is where Lambuth's incoming students come to campus and meet with their advisors, register for classes and take care of administrative tasks," said Sam Mauck, Dean of Students at Lambuth University.

This will be the first chance incoming freshmen will have as true Lambuth students. The eventful day on campus begins with registration for students and their families at 9:00 a.m. and concludes with a tour of the campus at 3:30 p.m. Sessions are scheduled throughout the day for both incoming students and parents.

"Students and parents break after lunch," Mauck said. "Parents have sessions all afternoon for resources on their student's college life inside the classroom and out. At the same time, students are meeting with their SOAR groups and going through the registration process."

In addition to going through the registration process, SOAR also presents an opportunity for students to get a jumpstart on getting acquainted with the campus before fall arrives.

"This is a very important day for students and their families," said Mauck. "It's a great way for us to continue the relationship we at Lambuth University are building with the students. SOAR is the first step for these students in becoming full-fledged members of the Lambuth family."

Christina Torres, the Associate Director of Admissions at Lambuth University believes this is one of the most rewarding parts of her job at the University. "You're watching the future of Lambuth in the making," said Torres. "These students will contribute to campus life, hold offices in our clubs and organizations, and create lasting impressions throughout the next four years - all of which will guide Lambuth's personality and campus culture. This particular class is so completely dedicated that it adds a heightened level of anticipation as to what they will accomplish."
